Drama Kids Program Offered for Free

The Forest Theater Guild is pleased to partner with the Carmel Youth Center this summer to offer our Drama Kids program for free.

Group acting day classes are included with the CYC’s day camp, and a special drop-in fee may apply.

Instructor Ty Hawthorne is the Guild’s 2017 scholarship recipient and current student of New York University Tisch School of the Arts where he studies at the New Studio on Broadway. Ty has previously worked with Ragamuffin Kids Musical Theater Camp in Pacific Grove and enjoys sharing his experience and knowledge of theater. During his studies in New York City, he has cultivated a unique relationship with the art of theater and hopes to further enrich the community that helped him get started on this incredibly fulfilling path.

Please check with the Carmel Youth Center for more information or to register for this fun filled opportunity to learn with TY this summer! https://www.carmelyouth.org/summer/

Summer Course Goals:

The main objective of this theater class is to cultivate knowledge and skills that will be used in future theatrical pursuits. Focusing specifically on using the voice, becoming present on the stage, and noticing the environment around you in order to truthfully respond to it. Fostering a safe environment, this is an opportunity for students to be creative and explore their artistic mind. There will be field trips and guest presenters.

Ty is also offering individual vocal instruction and individual/small group theatrical instruction for elementary and middle school students. For more information please visit https://www.facebook.com/TyHawthorneStudio/ or email [email protected]
